I was planning on writing a paper today, but I find that I can't write unless it's after 5:00 pm. Instead I caught up on other computer-related activities like downloading a Black Crowes concert (12-18-2008) and listing my Total Gym on Craig's List.
The Total Gym was given to us from my parents, who also never used the exercise equipment. I embellished the first sentence in the Craig's List posting (a non-fiction writer's poetic license) since it's not entirely the way it happened, but I hope to catch the interest of a few people with a sense of humor and a New Year's Resolution that only the sponsorships of Chuck Norris and Christy Brinkley can provide.
Here's the posting:
TOTAL GYM, rarely used...because I'm lazy. - $100 (White Bear Lake)
I received this from my parents who likely thought that I would use it to get in better shape. I didn't take it as an insult, as I should lose a little weight, though I might have preferred the cash to the Total Gym if given the option.
I've used this equipment about a dozen times and find that I just don't have it in me to exercise regularly.
This Total Gym has all the original pieces except the manual and still works great...if you actually use it, unlike me.
I am willing to part with the idea of a Chuck Norris-like body for $100 or the best offer.
I'd prefer the buyer to pick up the equipment, but I suppose it would be good exercise for me to pick it up and lug it to some central meeting point if you can't make it to White Bear Lake.
--Update--
I received a few responses to the ad, but only one person offered a dollar amount. In an attempt to be fair to all who are interested (and possibly to squeeze a few more dollars out of the Total Gym) I emailed the interested parties with the following:
I have received a lot of responses to the Total Gym ad, but only one person offered a dollar amount.
Rather than go with my instincts and have the potential buyers throw down in a Chuck Norris, Delta Force style, royal rumble, I decided to allow all of those who responded to offer a dollar amount or gracefully bow out.
If no one else offers an amount, the person who did originally email a dollar amount will take home the glory of knowing no fists were thrown in the purchase of his/her Total Gym.
I will consider the deal "sealed" at 10:45 pm, Wednesday. The Total Gym can be picked up either before noon on Friday, or before 3:00 on Saturday.
Thanks everyone.

lol, I have seen some hilarious Ebay listings, I swear people bid just so they could say: "I won THAT auction." Good luck and no, I don't have it either. (What's total gym???)
