Gandhi and I spent most of the day together today; just the two of us. I slept in a lot later than I usually do, got Gandhi to eat her breakfast and finished cleaning the house (I vacuumed yesterday until the battery ran out). It's fun to chase a barking puppy around with a vacuum. I highly recommend it.
After a few trips outside in the rain, Gandhi finally realized that the longer she waits to pee, the wetter she gets. I finally realized that I have a golf umbrella in the closet that will cover both me and the dog. (No, I don't golf...and no, I don't want to start). Since it kept raining harder and harder, I decided to take Gandhi on a ride to the nearest T.J. Maxx for some $7 pants.
By the time we got back home, Jenne was just about to return from work. I packed my bags, got all of Gandhi's things together (most grown humans need less stuff for a weekend away), and loaded up the car. My companion stood, barking orders, from the nearest window.
Now, we are in Ripon, WI. The puppy is sleeping from her long, exciting day with Dad, and I'm getting ready for my first trip to the Rippin' Good cookie factory tomorrow afternoon.
It was a good day--just Gandhi and me.
